She is author of `European Communism since 1989: Towards a New European Left?' (2000) Peter Thompson is Lecturer in German Studies at Sheffield University and author of `The Crisis of the German Left. The PDS, Stalinism and the Global Economy' (2005). Winfried Wolf was an independent member of the German Parliament on the Party of Democratic Socialism list from 1997 to 2002. He has written extensively on transport policy and on German politics.
